A little “did you know” about Elmhurst
Frank D. O’Connor was an Elmhurst Queens lawyer. He was also a politician from New York. He was District Attorney of Queens County, New York from 1956 to 1965.
He was the son of Irish immigrants. He was raised and brought up in Elmhurst and graduated from Newtown High School and Niagara University in 1932, and from Brooklyn Law School in 1934. Frank practiced law in Queens and was very active in the Democratic Party.
He died on December 2, 1992, at the Booth Memorial Hospital in Flushing from head injuries he had suffered 13 days earlier when he fell down a flight of stairs at his home.
